3270 AYUSH doctors will be recruited in Bihar, BTSC will release notification soon

Regular appointment will be made for 3270 posts of AYUSH doctors in Bihar.

The Health Department has sent its recommendation to the Bihar Technical Services Selection Commission for appointment to these posts. Also, the information sought by the Commission regarding the appointment has also been made available. According to the sources in the department, the process of appointment to these posts would have started in February 2020 but the advertisement regarding the corona crisis and the process of appointment could not be issued till now.

Advertisement will be released soon for appointment by Bihar Technical Services Selection Commission.

The Commission had sought information from the Health Department on two points.

The first will be the relaxation of the age limit and the second is how much importance will be given to the experience.

The department has informed the Commission on both the points.If sources are to be believed, the department has recommended relaxation in age limit by considering 2008 as the base year and giving five marks and maximum 25 marks for each year on experience.

The doctors of AYUSH were earlier appointed on contract under the National Rural Health Program (NRHM) in 2008 and the National Child Health Program (RBSK) in 2015. There was a regular appointment of Ayurveda physicians in 1998.

In 3270 posts, Ayurvedic doctors will be appointed for 50 percent posts, Homeopathy practitioners for 30 percent and Unani physicians for 10 percent posts. This includes 2300 newly created posts and more than one thousand old vacant posts.

AYUSH doctors’ organizations demanded early appointment.Organizations of AYUSH doctors have also demanded to start the process of appointment to the vacant posts of Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani doctors like doctors of allopathy.

Dr. SK Jha, Secretary, AYUSH Medical Services Association, Bihar and Dr. Madhurendu Pandey, President of AYUSH Medical Association, Bihar, said that this effort of the State Government will develop indigenous medicine and provide relief to a large number of rural population in the Corona period.
